BANK DEGROOF PETERCAM is the result of a recent merger between Bank Degroof, a private investment bank founded in 1871 in Brussels, and Petercam a Belgian financial group founded in 1968.

Executed as part of the Base Design Brussels’ team.

The brand narrative, “the best of both worlds”, highlights the strengths of each financial institution, coming together under one roof. This concept allowed Base Design to blend complementary elements by playing with oppositions (traditional vs contemporary, analog vs digital, etc.) The new monogram of Degroof Petercam, designed by Base Design, is a perfect metaphor of bringing two oppositions into a singularity, based on the initials of the new brand name.

Besides being part of the conceptual thinking and helping Base Design breathing life into the new Degroof Petercam identity, I was involved in rationalising the visual identity into comprehensive guidelines, which will be implemented by the Degroof Petercam in-house design team.
